This is a two-disc collection that compiles a few unreleased songs from Control Denied, but it’s by far composed of a lot of old Death demo recordings. The Control Denied songs are instrumental and sound like demos. They are interesting to hear, but I don’t feel like listening to them over and over again because they sound incomplete. Now, the rest of the cd number one and all of cd two is rough, badly recorded Death demos with bad, bad sound quality. How bad is the quality? It’s really bad, seriously. What is the purpose of releasing second and third generation, rough demo recordings like these when you can hear “Scream Bloody Gore”, the album proper? Do not waste your money on this just because it has the name Chuck Schuldiner on it. If you are a serious Death/Control Denied/Chuck Schuldiner fan and you think this review might be exaggerating how bad the sound quality on these cds is, you should at least try to hear a couple of the demo songs before you waste your cash on this.
