Doomtree – “Down Below”
The vocals are, if you must know, a bit nasal, and at times, brought to mind Billy Idol and at others, Glen Danzig. The guitar work and solos are simple, as is the drumming, but what drives this rowdy rock & roll is attitude: a dirty, booze, barroom, smoking & drinking type of mentality. The band says that they recorded this in their bedrooms and basements, but it sounds gritty, like it’s supposed to be. This is 33.3% punk rock, 33.3% dirty rock and 33.3 % jerks with whom you would not want to be friends with because they would steal your money and your television when you fall asleep.
Bastards.
