Mercenary – “11 Dreams”
Fans of that melodic Scandinavian growl n’ sing style will be glad to hear a new band that sounds hungry and eager to be taken seriously. If you like melodic metal with some background electronics, you’ll be well advised to check this out. It is catchy and aggressive, like this type of band. This is not to compare, but just in case you want names, I will name names: In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy and Soilwork. There, does that help? This Danish band has gritty, chuggy riffing and not all the supposed Maiden harmonies. A lot of the melody comes from the vocals, too. The clean singing is way more upfront than Soilwork and more prog/heavy/power metal, too. Investigate further if Gothenburg means anything to you. Pretty trendy stuff.
