Moonspell – “Irreligious”
This band has definitely crossed over into the gothic realm of things. Pretty much leaving the “black metal” sound that people said they had on previous efforts. I would definitely call this a progression since their previous effort both musically and vocally. The songs are excellently structured and executed. Mixing the metal influence and the dark gothic mysticism is something I truly enjoy. A lot of people shit on his vocal style/styles, but I find them to be a plus, especially in a scene where vocal styles are usually limiting in such an extreme scene. All into dark and heavy music should enjoy this release very much.
