Mortem – “Demon Tales”
Mortem is a Peruvian death metal band that started out in 1986. These guys are still around, playing underground death metal. “Demon Tales” is just that. This is pretty good death metal. But like a lot of south American bands, they are plagued with bad equipment, with a bad sound. If early Sodom sounded cool with bad production, then that is not the case here. This is basically like early Sepultura sound wise. There’s nothing truly outstanding here, but better production could make a big difference because Mortem are a musically serious band and their devotion is unquestionable. This is not cheesy stuff at all. Definitely worth a listen.
